Atlanta Trip

A couple of weeks ago, we made our way down South to get out of this blasted weather the midwest has to offer. The winter is sure is doing us in this year!!! The real reason for going...well, Brent had an A.R.T. seminar in Atlanta and he didn't know of any other students going so he decided to drag along the family. I have an aunt who lives about 30 miles south of Atlanta so we ended up staying with her. They live in an awesome town called Peachtree City. It is such a gorgeous area with lakes, tons of trees, and...the best part...sun!!! The funniest part about this town is that everyone drives around golf carts. Its the craziest thing!!! At the stores they have spots for the golf carts and paths all around town. They even had pimped out golf carts - its pretty hilarious. We had such a blast staying there and Kennedy especially loved their dog, Pico. She would scream at him because he would run away from her and he would bark back at her because she was screaming. We got a kick out of it. I think he is still probably having nightmares of Kennedy pulling out his fur.

Toys, Toys, and...More Toys

Kennedy has definitely discovered toys and loves playing with, well anything that she's not suppose to. She loves taking all her toys out of the basket one by one and of course she loves the basket ride. Some of her favorite toys end up not being toys at all - a keychain, a bowl, and any kind of candy wrapper. I don't know why I even bother buying toys when I can just look through all my old junk!!!

California Trip - Laguna Beach

Our favorite day while in California was a day that Brent and I just went off by ourselves and found some gorgeous beaches. We drove along the Pacific Coast Highway and found the beach we had been looking for - Laguna Beach!!! We are seriously considering moving there and if we don't, then we will definitely be spending a lot of future time at the Montage Resort there. It was fun to put Kennedy in the Hula outfit Gram brought her from Hawaii and to show off her chubbiness in the swimsuit. Can you believe those legs. I love it!!! She looked adorable!!! Despite all the fun we were having, Kennedy wasn't as chipper as we would have liked. She hated the sand when we first put her on it and well...she needed a nap. We tried to have her snooze in the stroller, but I don't think she really went to sleep. Good thing for second winds. She ended up loving the sand and we had the BEST DAY EVER!!!!

California Trip - Coronado Island

Another day in California we took a ferry over from San Diego to Coronado Island. We never made it over to the cool old hotel, but we did get the most important item on our list - ice cream....and a little bike riding!!!

California Trip - Oceanside

Kennedy and I made the long 11 hour drive over to California to meet Brent (flying out from Chicago & on break from school) to have week full of fun in California. We were all SO ready for some sun!!! The weather actually wasn't the best for California, but compared to Iowa....we were in heaven. Kennedy and I ended up getting sick too, but we still ended up having a great time. One of the days we were there we headed over to Oceanside beach to check things out. The water was a little chilly for a dip, but it was still fun to just be on the beach.

Kennedy - 7 months old

While we were in Utah I had one of my best friends, Annie, take Kennedy's pictures again. She is so awesome!!! Not only did she take Kennedy's pictures, but she took me to the U2 3D show to re-live our college days. I loved hanging out with her again!!! Kennedy wasn't cooperating too much, but I think we were able to get a few good ones.

Trip to Utah

After St. George, Kennedy and I hung out at my parents and were able to see all the family around. Kennedy loved having so much attention!!! When we came back home she was a little crabby because, well...mom and dad just aren't as cool as all the cousins.


I love these pictures of my mom and Kennedy!!! What cute twins!!! While we were there my mom taught Kennedy to tilt her head to the side when she's curious about something. The picture doesn't do it justice, but it really is hilarious.

Trip to Utah - St. George

The first part of our trip was down to St. George because my brother was blessing his baby. I was really excited to go to get out of the cold, but it ended up snowing down there too. I guess I was just bad luck. Other than the weather, we had a pretty fun time going to the cousins basketball games (my brother and brother-in-law are the coaches), playing in the snow, and having Kennedy meet her cousins. Oh wait...the best part...I got my first fix of cafe rio. Yum!!!

Oops!!! I forgot I had a blog.

I want to apologize to all our fans because it has been awhile since I have posted anything:) I was gone for the whole month of February and well...its just taken me awhile to get back on the ball. For Christmas & my birthday my parents gave me a plane ticket to Utah for 3 weeks, and then we ended up going on a last minute vacation with Brent's family to California. The whole month worked out great because I was gone while Brent was in finals and (the real reason) I wasn't in Iowa for the coldest month of the year. Its been a bad one this year...blah!!! I've got a lot of catching up to do...so here we go!!!
